Understand what Ramen Noir needs
A beautiful restaurant is not the goal yet. A working loop is.

Beginner Guide
Get through your first hours without wasting money, breaking your restaurant loop, or getting lost in Nivalis' many systems.
GoalLeave the tutorial phase with a working business and enough cash to explore other systems.
Three rules that keep the first hours from turning into a money spiral.
Don't spend everything the moment the game offers something to buy, decorate or unlock. The cash you keep is what lets you restock tomorrow.
Fishing, farming, relationships and housing can all wait. Get one loop working before you add another one on top of it.
Furniture holds its value. Fresh ingredients do not: they decay over time and several of them only last in refrigeration.
Do these three things before you start optimizing anything.
A beautiful restaurant is not the goal yet. A working loop is.
Menu → Ingredients → Preparation → Customers → Revenue
Work through the tutorial objectives until the game has introduced the venue inventory and the basic operating loop.
View the Noodle Bar Introduction stepsNew players restock, lose cash, and still can't sell. Before spending again, check what is actually missing.
Before buying more stock, check:
Patch 01.10 changed the opening venue inventory objective and improved how staff take orders and how Managers buy ingredients.
See what Patch 01.10 changedMost early problems are a break in one of these five links. Find the broken link before you change prices or hire anyone.
What are you actually serving?
Know which recipes are active before you change anything else.
Menu and PricingDo you have the required ingredients?
Match what the menu consumes against what is actually on your shelves.
IngredientsCan those recipes actually be prepared?
A recipe with ingredients but no working station still can't be served.
RecipesCan customers order and receive it?
If orders stall, look at staffing and layout, not the menu.
StaffAre sales covering what you're spending?
If sales can't cover stock, wages and rent, expanding will make it worse.
Losing MoneyDon't buy a pile of ingredients "just in case". With spoilage and Manager behaviour, overbuying is one of the fastest ways to lose early cash.
If your stock is fine but orders still fail, the problem is upstream: check processing and equipment.
Buying too much doesn't save money. Stock sits, food approaches expiry, waste rises, and you buy again — the cash disappears in the gap.
The current game data lists 253 ingredients. 114 of them need refrigeration, and the fastest spoil in about 4 days.
Running low on cold storage, or a new fridge not behaving? Use the dedicated storage troubleshooting guide.
This page is about surviving your first hours, not maximizing income. Making real money is its own guide.
Cash in
Cash out
Early-game goal: avoid unnecessary cash drains before you understand the loop.
You'll find tips like selling furniture or pricing everything at maximum. They can work, but they depend on the current build and aren't the beginner route. Start with advice that follows from the game's own systems.
Pick the problem you are seeing and go straight to the fix — don't restart your save yet.
Don't restart yet. Diagnose the loop first, then decide.
Don't unlock staff and fill every slot. Identify what is actually slowing you down first.
What's slowing you down?
Cooking
Keeps orders coming out of the kitchen.
Serving
Moves orders from counter to customer.
Cleaning
Keeps the venue usable as customers come and go.
Managing
Handles restocking and day-to-day decisions.
Barter
Gets more out of buying and selling.
Don't treat a Manager as full autopilot. Before you depend on one, make sure you understand:
Curfew changes how you can travel. Know it before the first night you stay out too late.
Day
Travel normally and check where you are.
Evening
Watch your route home.
Curfew
Normal travel options may be restricted.
Need a bed
Use a shelter or another valid place to sleep.
These aren't a checklist to rush through. Each one introduces a system you'll use for the rest of the game.
The Noodle Bar Expansion quest sends you shopping for plants and decorations, and the first patch changed how that objective behaves.
These six show up again and again in the first hours of Nivalis Nights.
Nivalis is wide. None of these need to be figured out in your first hours:
Come back to them once your basic loop is stable.
This is where Getting Started ends and the rest of the guide takes over.
Turn a working loop into a bigger one with staff, Managers and higher venue levels.
Stabilize income so stock, wages and rent stop competing with each other.
Work the water and the districts around it.
Grow what your menu needs instead of buying all of it.
Follow characters, choices and romance.
Tick these off as they become true. This checklist is stored only in your browser — it is not your game save.
Getting Started is done. From here, pick the system you want to explore first.
