Nivalis Nights Help & Troubleshooting
Tell us what's going wrong. We'll help separate game rules, setup problems, missing requirements and current known issues before you call something a bug.
What's happening?
Common symptoms
This router reads what you type and opens the page that owns the symptom. It reads no save file, so it can point at a likely cause but never at your exact one.
11symptoms, each routed to one owner page
What's not working?
Pick the symptom, not the system. Each entry shows the first checks in order, then hands you the page that completes the diagnosis.
- Check first
Manager isn't restocking or buying what you expect
The Manager may have nothing to buy, nowhere to put it, or a higher-priority task in front of the purchase.
Check first
- Does any active menu item still need an ingredient you are out of?
- Is there free normal or refrigerated storage for new ingredients?
- Is the Manager busy with serving, delivering or a complaint?
- Is this the recurring restock reminder rather than a one-time quest step?
- Check first
Customers stopped coming
Reported cases usually trace back to a menu the venue cannot actually produce, or to storage blocked by spoiled stock.
Check first
- Is the venue open, with the required staff present?
- Can the current menu still be produced from the ingredients you have?
- Is refrigerated storage full of spoiled food?
- Have the venue requirements been completed and met?
- Check first
Staff appear idle or ignore tasks
Idle staff usually wait on a higher-priority task, a missing ingredient or a role that does not match the work.
Check first
- Which role is this staff member assigned to?
- Is there a higher-priority task available, such as serving or processing?
- Do they need an ingredient that sits in storage or the fridge?
- Is one employee covering a venue with more seats than one person can serve?
- Check first
The venue keeps losing money
Losses usually come from one of five places: traffic, purchasing, waste, staffing or menu economics.
Check first
- Are customers actually being served?
- Is the Manager over-buying ingredients?
- Is food spoiling before it is sold?
- Do staff and purchasing costs exceed what the venue earns?
- Check first
Food keeps spoiling
Decay depends on whether the item needs refrigeration, whether refrigerated space is free, and how much you buy at once.
Check first
- Does this ingredient decay, or is it shelf-stable?
- Does it require refrigerated storage?
- Is there enough free refrigerated capacity?
- Is the Manager replenishing faster than the menu consumes?
- Check first
A quest won't progress or complete
Some objectives are static requirements and some reminders repeat on purpose. Both must be separated from a blocked quest.
Check first
- Is this a canonical quest step, or a repeating reminder?
- Does the objective need an item, state or location you have not reached?
- Does the next step need a relationship or dialogue condition?
- Has the current patch documented an issue with this quest?
- Game rule
Fast Travel is unavailable
Fast Travel needs an existing portal, an unlocked destination, a visited destination and no active curfew.
Check first
- Is there a portal where you are standing?
- Is the destination unlocked?
- Have you visited the destination before?
- Is curfew currently active?
- Known issue
FPS drops or performance degrades
Performance depends on where you are, how long the session has run and current known issues, not on one universal best setting.
Check first
- Does it happen everywhere, or only in crowded districts?
- Did it start right after Fast Travel?
- Has this session been running for hours?
- Are you playing on Steam Deck?
Also check
- Setup problemFridge or storage looks full
Only items that carry a storage value count towards capacity, and spoiled stock can hold space that new deliveries need.
- Known issueQuest log text is broken or illegible
Illegible quest log text was acknowledged earlier, and the published workaround was to reload the save. Check the current patch before assuming it is gone.
- Known issueIs this a known issue?
Check the acknowledged list before reporting a new problem, and check the patch notes before assuming a fixed issue is still open.

This is a troubleshooting order based on game rules and reported symptoms, not a reading of your save file. Unknown answers keep the earlier checks open instead of guessing.
Current version status
Help content is version-sensitive. This is the baseline these pages were checked against, and what recent patches changed.

How this troubleshooting works
Every symptom is classified before it is fixed, so a game rule is never reported as a bug and a community report is never promoted to an official issue.
Game rule
If the game data or a documented requirement explains the symptom, it is a rule. Fast Travel needing a visited destination is the clearest example.
Setup problem
If the symptom follows from your current setup, it is a setup problem. Full storage blocking new deliveries is the clearest example.
Known issue
If the developer has acknowledged it, it is a known issue with its own status and workaround. Everything else stays player reported until it is confirmed.
Because Help is version-sensitive, these pages carry the patch they were checked against. After a new patch, version-dependent answers return to review until they are re-verified.
Problem groups
- Business problems
Managers, staff, customers, storage and money all connect, so start from the symptom and follow the first checks.
- Quest & travel problems
Blocked objectives, recurring reminders and Fast Travel restrictions are separated so none of them is mistaken for a bug.
- Performance
Performance answers stay symptom-specific instead of one universal best-settings list.
Still stuck?
If every check passes and the symptom stays, it may be an unverified issue rather than a known one.
Before reporting it, collect
- What happened, in your own words
- Where it happened, including the venue or district
- Steps that reproduce it from a save
- Your patch version, hardware and a screenshot or clip
Report only after the checks above fail. A clear reproduction is what turns a player report into a confirmed issue.
Complex story or state question?
Dialogue blockers, relationship thresholds, choice branches and mixed quest conditions do not belong on a symptom page.
Ask the Player AssistantDeterministic business, storage, travel and performance symptoms are handled by the Help pages above, so keep the Assistant for questions that need the story graph.
