Check My PC

Requirements last verified · Oct 3, 2026

The published targets describe what the official reference hardware reaches. They are not a promise for every configuration.

Check my hardware

Select your parts and see how they compare with the two published tiers. Nothing is detected automatically.

A web page cannot reliably read your CPU, GPU or RAM, so this is a manual selection instead of a fake “scan my PC” button.

On a laptop the mobile GPU list is used, because a mobile part is graded against the official laptop reference rather than the desktop card with the same name.

Your PC

Between official tiers

Your hardware is above the minimum but below one or more recommended components. The developer has not published an official performance target for this tier, so start from the minimum and recommended targets and tune from there.

Official reference target

Not explicitly published for this exact configuration.

The official targets are references, not guarantees: actual performance can still vary by scene and by the current game version.

42 GB is the required available space, not a promise that the installed game will occupy exactly that much.

What do the targets mean?

The minimum and recommended rows are not vague hardware lists. Each one maps to a resolution, a frame rate and a preset.

Minimum means 1080p at 30 FPS on Very Low

1080p · 30 FPS · Very Low

The official minimum target is 1080p, 30 FPS and the Very Low preset, at native resolution and without upscaling. It is a playable entry target, not a smooth high-end experience.

Recommended means 1440p at 60 FPS on High

1440p · 60 FPS · High

The official recommended target is 1440p, 60 FPS and the High preset, also at native resolution and without upscaling. It is not the Ultra preset and not 4K.

Don't read “minimum” as “runs smoothly”. The official minimum target is only 1080p30 on the Very Low preset.

Don't read “recommended” as Ultra or 4K. The published recommended target is 1440p60 on High.

CPU matters too

Crowds, NPC simulation, world state and business activity can make some workloads CPU-sensitive. The two published reference CPUs are several generations apart, so the CPU row is not filler.

How much RAM?

Both official tiers list 16 GB of system RAM. No higher figure is officially recommended, so 32 GB is not a published requirement.

How much VRAM?

The minimum tier lists cards around 6 GB of VRAM and the recommended tier asks for 12 GB or more. Cards with 8 GB are not declared unsupported — they simply sit between the two published tiers.

Is an SSD required?

Yes. “SSD required” is stated in both the minimum and recommended specifications, so a hard drive falls below the current storage requirement rather than being a supported option.

Why are the recommended specs this high?

Nivalis Nights is not demanding because of its art style alone. The city packs dense geometry, high NPC density and layered world systems, and the developer's optimization notes single out character simulation, world state and memory as ongoing work. Both CPU and GPU load can matter, depending on the scene.

Playing on a laptop?

The official specification lists separate laptop references, because mobile GPUs perform below the desktop cards that share their names.

Minimum laptop reference

GeForce RTX 4050 Laptop 6 GB

Recommended laptop reference

GeForce RTX 4080 Laptop 12 GB+ · GeForce RTX 5080 Laptop 12 GB+

A mobile GPU is not equivalent to the desktop card with the same name. Compare laptop parts against the laptop references.

If your exact laptop GPU is not in the checker list, treat it as unclassified instead of assuming a tier.

Handheld PCs

The developer has not published a separate performance target for handheld devices. Steam Deck has its own compatibility and performance page.

Steam Deck guide

What resolution and frame rate are you targeting?

Only two hardware targets are published. This router tells you which one exists for the resolution and frame rate you want.

Resolution

An official 1080p reference exists: 1080p30 on Very Low. The developer has not published a separate 1080p60, Medium or High specification.

Frame rate

The official minimum reference targets 30 FPS at 1080p on Very Low.

Upscaling and native resolution

Both published targets are native-resolution references with no upscaling applied. They were not reached with FSR, DLSS or XeSS, and no official upscaled performance gain has been published either, so we don't estimate one.

System requirements questions

The questions players actually search for, answered from the current official specification.

How much RAM does Nivalis Nights need?

16 GB is listed for both the minimum and recommended specifications. No higher figure is officially recommended.

How much VRAM does Nivalis Nights need?

The minimum tier lists GPUs around 6 GB of VRAM, and the recommended tier calls for 12 GB or more.

Does Nivalis Nights require an SSD?

Yes. “SSD required” is explicitly stated in both the minimum and recommended specifications.

How much storage does Nivalis Nights need?

The current listing states 42 GB of available space. That is a required free-space figure, not a guarantee of the final installed size.

What does the minimum specification actually mean?

The official minimum target is 1080p at 30 FPS on the Very Low preset, at native resolution without upscaling.

What does the recommended specification actually mean?

The official recommended target is 1440p at 60 FPS on the High preset, at native resolution without upscaling.

My PC is above minimum but below recommended. What can I expect?

There is no official target for that tier. The developer publishes only the minimum and recommended references, so the honest answer is to start from those targets and tune settings rather than expect a specific frame rate.

Can I play Nivalis Nights on a laptop?

Officially, the minimum laptop reference is an RTX 4050 Laptop with 6 GB of VRAM, and the recommended references are an RTX 4080 or RTX 5080 Laptop with 12 GB or more. Mobile GPUs perform below their desktop equivalents.

Are there Mac or Linux requirements?

This page covers the Windows PC specification. Native macOS and Linux availability is a separate question, covered on the Platforms page.

Verification and sources

Every figure on this page is dated and linked to the official store listing it came from.

This page is rechecked whenever the official requirements change, and it is never updated from older cached specs.

Why older specs online still disagree

Older captures, cached store pages and reposted articles still show a 30 GB requirement and an 8 GB recommended VRAM figure. The current store listing no longer matches them, so this page follows the current listing only.

Older values no longer used: 30 GB · 8 GB
